Shaping and cleaning up the yard was one of my first chores. For some strange reason, I really like trimming trees and shrubs. It’s creativity and organization all wrapped up into one.
Anyway, for the past few months I’ve been very curious about this little scraggly bush at the base of our front steps. I shaped it as best I could, but the poor thing looked like it was barely standing there. Its best resource might have been its fire burning abilities. I felt bad for it, but it had cool moss-covered bark. I decided to give the survivor until next spring to see what it would do.
Well… that bush must have ears because look what bloomed this week!
I had no idea!
I just had to bring the blooms inside and incorporate into an arrangement! The flowers are very delicate but give off a very sweet scent.
Here’s the result…
Ahhhhh!!! I know… terribly selfish of myself!
